Meet Ayana Boyd - Faith-based therapist for High-Functioning Christian Women in Murfreesboro, TN.

You don’t have to be the strong one here.

Hi! I’m Ayana Boyd, A-LPC/MHSP!

I work with high-functioning Christian women who have spent years carrying responsibility well — but quietly at the expense of their peace.

Many of my clients are leaders, helpers, caregivers, and high achievers who deeply value their faith but struggle to reconcile their beliefs with their lived experience of anxiety, guilt, or over-responsibility.

My role is to help you move from survival-driven strength to secure, grounded confidence.

Why this work matters to me:

As both a therapist and a woman of faith, I believe emotional health and spiritual growth are not separate journeys.

I’ve seen how high-achieving Christian women can know truth intellectually — yet still feel trapped in performance-based living.

My work focuses on bridging that gap.

Using clinically sound approaches like Brainspotting, cognitive reframing, and strengths-based therapy, I help clients regulate their nervous systems, reprocess deeply rooted patterns, and develop a sense of identity that is both psychologically secure and spiritually anchored.

This is not surface-level encouragement.
It is structured, transformative work.

As a Faith-Based Therapist:

I Do NOT:

  • Minimize mental health struggles

  • Shame you for your humanity.

  • Reduce complex trauma to spiritual lessons.

I DO:

  • Create space for honest faith conversations.

  • Help you build boundaries without guilt.

  • Challenge spiritual bypassing.

  • Integrate faith in ways that support healing, not suppress it.

What It’s Like to Work With Me:

I believe each client is the expert of their own life, so I am committed to offering a therapy style that is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded. I value authenticity, honesty, and creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are — no judgement, shame, or guilt.

I approach therapy with warmth, intention, and a little humor (because life gets heavy, and we have to laugh through some things, right?!). I believe healing doesn’t require hustle, and growth doesn’t have to come at the expense of your well-being. I also weave faith and emotional well-being together in ways that support growth, clarity, and sustainable resilience — your spiritual journey is welcome here.

What Working Together Feels Like:

  • I don’t just teach self-development — I live it. I practice what I preach and remind you that growth isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Whether it’s showing how I hold myself accountable or admitting when I’m struggling too, my honesty has been proven to create a safe and relatable space.

  • I’m not a therapist who just assigns homework and checks in on it later — i actively do the work alongside you. If you need to sit with your emotions, I’m going to sit with mine too. If you’re struggling with setting boundaries, I’ll reflect on my own. If you need to implement more self-care, I’m going to implement more in my routine as well. Sessions with me are collaborative and deeply impactful.

  • A lot of people feel guilty for choosing themselves, but I normalize self-development as a lifestyle, not a luxury. I’ll help you shift from “I have to do everything for everyone” to “I am worthy of taking up space in my own life — that shift is life-changing.

  • You may feel like you’re the only one who can hold everything together, but I’m here to help you recognize and lean on the support that already exists around you. I show you that you don’t have to carry it all alone, which is incredibly freeing.

  • I will make sure that you see your progress, no matter how small. Growth isn’t linear, yet I will celebrate you wholeheartedly when you take steps toward honoring yourself. Therapy with me isn’t just a place for healing, but also a place for recognition and self-empowerment.

  • A lot of times, we look at our faults, mistakes, and negative emotions as something to be ashamed of or punished for, but here, we use those very things for insight — to build understanding about what’s important to us and what is needed to ensure we live the best versions of our lives. It’s common to want to hide, especially when you’re trying to meet unrealistic expectations or uphold pressure that is too heavy to bear. Here, we don’t hide, we don’t carry what’s no longer serving us, and we don’t ignore in hopes that it will disappear. Here, we empower and that comes from knowing.

Clients often describe our work as grounding, clarifying, and freeing.

They report:

  • Making decisions with confidence instead of fear

  • Setting boundaries without overwhelming guilt

  • Experiencing peace that feels embodied — not performative

  • Living from their identity instead of striving for it

I’m not a preacher; I’m a therapist

I am not here to preach at you; I’m here to help you integrate your spiritual beliefs into your therapeutic healing journey, so you can live the best version of your life — authentically, freely, and abundantly.

You are allowed to love God and need therapy.

You are allowed to serve faithfully and still need support.

You are allowed to be strong and still rest.
